Me & My Mind
I think a lot; I set aside time every day to do it. I’m not married as I write this, but I will be as you read this. I love my family, we are all close. My group of friends have been around for a while; the group is large, and we are close. I am a small business owner; it’s a modest living.
I will start a family soon. I’d like a house of my own to begin that family in, but that vision seems to keep moving further away. I feel inflation.
I am just like everyone else, except I think I see a bit more.
But it wasn’t always this way. A few years ago I couldn’t see the bigger picture. Then curiosity took over. I had always been a bit curious, but I started to question everything. I became curious until I reach the core. It helped me see the world around me in greater detail.
I came to the realization, nothing that is controlled by humans is how it appears. There is always propaganda involved.
All my life I was trained to blindly “trust the experts”. The “experts” were everywhere. They were teachers, priests, government officials, celebrities, etc. Idolization is common in our culture, it took me awhile to understand that, but now I do deeply. I know that every idol is just a human like myself. We are constantly influenced by other people. We are corruptible, we have flaws, we are wrong.
I see the plight of consumerism that makes financial freedom impossible for the masses. People convince themselves they need to spend on things they don’t need and they can’t afford. Our attention sucked up by people we will never know. Our attention is our time, so our time becomes their money. We are depressed and divided and most people cannot guess why. I think it’s because our time is not our own. It’s taken outwardly by propagandists in the attention economy, and it’s taken discreetly by those who control the money. Our money is our time, so our time is their money.
I am someone who believes that most people need a way out. A way out from the fog. A way out from the debt trap. We need to become curious as a society. Curiosity will lead humanity to a better place. We will learn that how we spend our time is all that we can control. Then we will reclaim our time as our own. Once we take responsibility of our time and use it more efficiently, happiness and cooperation will follow.
I dream of creating a place for discussion. This place of discussion revolves around topics other than what people see on the news. I am close to my friends and my family, but I often wish the topics of conversation were deeper. People are more eager to discuss the personal lives of celebrities than the personal lives of the people in their own lives.
I want people to wake up. I want people to become part of the curious poor. Let’s study the world that that we interact with.
A Way Out through Curiosity
The best conversations start and persist when someone is curious. Have a beer, start a conversation. As we loosen up a bit conversation flows better. Use the things around you (glassware) to start that conversation. Always be curious.
That’s the thesis/passion/driver behind all of this.
I am following my curiosity. Bitcoin, beer, glassware, and conversation they’re all connected through curiosity. I am interested to see if anyone else is interested.
Bitcoin
Bitcoin helped to show me the importance of curiosity. I went, and am still going, down the rabbit hole.
I learn about Bitcoin because it opens my mind. It’s led me to deeply understand money. To deeply understand money I have had to research and understand many other topics. Learning about Bitcoin has given me a more complete view of how the world works. There is still so much to learn.
An Interlude.
Before I get into why Bitcoin is a way out, I realize that at the mention of Bitcoin, alarm bells may have rung for many. Maybe you thought “he’s a scammer”. So, am I a scammer? Well if you ask the wise Bitstein, everyone’s a scammer.
But, Bitcoin isn’t a scam. Why? My brother says it best.
“Bitcoin has no affiliations, no agendas, no rulers, just rules set in computer code."
Why do you think it might be a scam? Well, because..
Whatever understanding or bias comes to mind when reading the word Bitcoin has been shaped by the person(s) behind the medium that you consumed the information from.
Ok, now that thats out of the way…
Back to it
I own Bitcoin because its the only way out that I see. The money we use is not fair. I don’t want to store my time and energy in an unfair system. Bitcoin is the answer.
I think if more people fell down the bitcoin rabbit hole they’d have a different view of the world around them. I personally prefer this post rabbit hole view.
Bitcoin shapes the world around it, cannot be stopped, and seems to be connected to everything. Because of this, there is nothing I am more curious about.
Beer
Beer has been around for a long time. Many great conversations have happened over a pint. I am aware alcohol is not the greatest substance for my body, but I do think there are benefits to it.
I’ve had enlightening conversations and made great friends over a couple beers. Conversations tend to be more fluid and honest, when we’ve had 2 or 3 beers to give us that loose feeling. I think altering our mental state is a good thing, when done in moderation. It makes us think differently, new perspectives can arise. We become curious in a different way.
Along with the effects, I love how beer tastes. I love how many different types of there are, each one offering new tastes and aromas for my mind to process.
Andddd, a beer in a glass offers a pleasant visual aesthetic.
Glassware
I’ve always appreciated unique glassware for my unique beers. I feel that a special glass brings attention to the moment. It helps me to live in the present.
I recently found out I like creating designs. Physically creating something, rather than just thinking about something, gives me satisfaction. I can follow my curiosity into a physical product that I use. I can create a conversation piece.
I am curious of what’s next. I am curious of how creative I can be. I want to create a brand, with glassware being the physical product. Glassware can be the impetus for conversation, beer will lubricate that conversation, curiosity will propel it further, and hopefully it will get to Bitcoin.
Conversation
When you are curious, you seek conversations; they are a key to learning. Conversations can happen in your own head when your by yourself, listening to a podcast, or reading something. You don’t need another person.
But, another person can help.
Conversations help you put your thoughts into practice. Different viewpoints help you see flaws in your own. Learn as much as you can and have the conversations to form your truths. Your truths are who you are. Just know that they will change.
I learn through conversations daily. Many of these are in my own head or with myself while writing.
I want to have more conversations with people about deep topics. I want more people to have more conversations about deeper topics. I want to continue writing to have conversations with myself. I want the conversations with myself to spark people to have conversations with other people.
Hold no idols, but be curious of what others have to say. Do not look for a guru to tell you what to do, a real guru will inspire you to think for yourself.
Why You Should Stay?
Because you are curious too.
