You almost feel arrogant when the price of bitcoin goes up. Even if you’re not going to tell Uncle Ed “I told you so”, you know he will eventually see that price, and he might be frustrated with you for being right.
All along you were *certain* about the price going up, even though you “don’t care about the price”.
No matter what you say, you feel number go up. You’re prediction was right, nobody believe you, at some points you even doubted yourself. But, the market made it happen and now that feeling of vindication is back after 4 years.
What is the purpose of this emotion and why is it unavoidable?
I think it’s because you have received confirmation that you correctly identified value. The price going up is a signal of the market. The market is made up of humans. The wisdom of crowds is a trusted value indicator.
We want to be right about what is valuable. Price indicates value. If we pass that information on to our loved ones, we are doing them a net good as we are identifying value for them.
Value helps us survive.
